Statistical evidence against the Local Government Ombudsmen (LGO)

This is not a misprint! Anne Seex, the York LGO,  finds and reports maladministration in only one out of every thousand complaints submitted to her.

Statistics covering August, September and October 2008 (Page 7 of the link provided)

Note the correlation between the length of time the Local Government Ombudsmen has been in post and the number of reports finding maladministration they produce. Jerry White, Coventry, started 1995, 2.2%. Tony Redmond, London, started 2001, 0.7% and Anne Seex, started 2005, 0.1%.

Please note these figures apply to 2008

Fact

The LGO  find and report 100 times less maladministration than the Parliamentary Ombudsman (Substantially less as far as the York LGO is concerned).

Fact

The current odds of obtaining a finding of maladministration from one of the three Ombudsmen are, Tony Redmond, London Office 0.7% (odds = 142 to 1). Jerry White, Coventry Office, (odds = 45 to 1). Anne Seex, York Office 0.1% (odds = 1000 to 1).

Please note
